Applicants sought to fill vacant trustee seat!

Oxford Township is seeking applicants for a board of trustees vacancy created by the recent resignation of Trustee William Dunn. The deadline to apply is 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1.

Those interested in applying must submit a resume and letter of interest to the township clerk’s office. Applications must be made in person. No emails, please. The clerk’s office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please direct questions to Clerk Curtis Wright. He can be reached at (248) 628-9787 ext. 108.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, an Oxford Township or Oxford Village resident for at least 30 days and a registered voter.

Interviews are scheduled to take place during the Wednesday, Dec. 8 township board meeting. The board could appoint someone to fill the vacancy at that meeting.

Whoever is appointed will serve until the Nov. 8, 2022 midterm election. The remainder of the unexpired trustee term (Nov. 8, 2022 to Nov. 20, 2024) will be filled by the highest vote-getter in that election.
