Lake Orion Police Department issued the following announcement on Nov 27.
Friendly reminder the scammers are working overtime on their trickery. People are receiving phone calls that If they haven’t paid a ticket a warrant will be issued you must pay now, or there is a warrant for their arrest you must pay now! The phone number coming up is our non-emergency phone number 248-693-8321.
This is not the operational procedure of the Lake Orion Police Department. We will not request money over the phone!
Please be careful there are so many different scams out there, they are professional sounding and unfortunately they are finding victims.
