City of Rochester Hills issued the following announcement on Mar 29.
The City's Deer Management Advisory Committee (DMAC) in partnership with both the Parks and Natural Resources Department and Bordine’s Nursery will host a “Gardening and Landscaping with Deer” seminar on April 28th, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Auditorium.
At this event, guests will learn strategies for making their gardens and landscaping less susceptible to deer. This will include landscaping techniques, many of which have been tried and tested on the city’s properties.
Every year, deer browsing around your home can wreak havoc on your garden and landscaping. It is important to take a multi-faceted approach when trying to keep deer from eating the plants in your garden. During the event, participants will also hear what resistant plants and repellents are available from Bordine’s Nursery.
"This program is a great way to connect our residents with local experts and provide the latest information on landscaping with a high deer population," states Matt Einheuser, Rochester Hills’ Natural Resources Manager. "With the help of these tips, we hope our neighbors will find success in their gardening activities."
This seminar is free for residents. To sign up for this program visit www.rochesterhills.org/outdoors. Rochester Hills’ City Hall is located at 1000 Rochester Hills Drive, Rochester Hills.
