WASHINGTON, D.C. - In a move to safeguard America's national security, Rep. Lisa McClain (R-MI) has called on the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) to closely examine Chinese Communist Party (CCP) affiliated company Guoxuan High-Tech's investments in Michigan through its subsidiary Gotion, Inc. McClain's concerns arise after Gotion, Inc. recently acquired 400 acres of land in Michigan for the construction of a lithium battery plant.
"Gotion is a CCP controlled company and they present a direct threat to my home State of Michigan and the entire country," said Rep. Lisa McClain. "I am demanding CFIUS takes a closer look at Gotion to ensure America's national security is not compromised by this battery plant."
Joining Rep. McClain in leading this call for action is Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), Rep. John Moolenaar (R-MI), Rep. Bill Huizenga (R-MI), Rep. John James (R-MI), and Rep. Mike Bost (R-IL).
