Congresswoman Lisa McClain (R-MI) has introduced the Save Women's Sports Act, a legislation aimed at preserving the integrity of women's sports by prohibiting biological males from competing against females in athletics. Under this proposed law, schools that receive federal financial assistance would be required to comply, with non-compliance potentially resulting in the loss of federal funding.
In announcing the bill, Rep. McClain emphasized the importance of protecting the rights of female athletes. She stated, "We are not going to sit back and let federally funded schools strip away the Title IX protections for female athletes. The House has the power of the purse, and if there are schools out there that want to allow biological males to unfairly compete against females, then they need to find funding elsewhere. We cannot allow President Biden to undermine the sanctity of women's sports, and I will never stop fighting for the rights of our daughters to compete fairly."
Rep. McClain's concerns stem from President Biden's stance on Title IX and women's sports. She accuses him of prioritizing his party's radical agenda over the interests of women. McClain asserts, "President Biden has chosen to go to war against Title IX and women's sports. He would rather follow his party's radical agenda than stand up for the women he pretends to support."
Highlighting the need for bipartisan support, Rep. McClain stresses that defending daughters' rights in sports should not be a partisan issue. She believes that women have demonstrated their strengths and athletic abilities to the world and that it is worth fighting for their ability to compete on an even playing field without biological disadvantages.
The Save Women's Sports Act aims to prevent the erosion of Title IX protections and maintain fair competition in women's athletics. It addresses concerns about maintaining an equal and level playing field for female athletes, ensuring that they have the opportunity to showcase their skills and excel in their respective sports.
