WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, Congresswoman Lisa McClain (R-MI) issued a statement following the House Armed Services Committee markup of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that concluded last night. Congresswoman McClain submitted numerous amendments and report language changes that were included in the NDAA that passed through committee, securing significant wins for Michigan's 9th District, the military, and national defense.

“Our national defense is our greatest asset,” said Rep. McClain. “Without it, we lose the freedoms we cherish. But with it, we can continue to be the shining city on a hill that the world looks to as a leader. I am proud of the NDAA that just passed markup, and I am pleased to see my amendments and report language changes included in this important legislation. I hope we can pass the NDAA through Congress in short order and give our troops the resources they desperately need.”

“Rep. McClain has remained a fierce advocate for our servicemembers,” Chairman Mike Rogers (R-AL) said. “I thank Rep. McClain for her tireless work to strengthen our military and improve the quality of life for our servicemembers and their families.”
