Representative Lisa McClain, who serves in the U.S. Congress representing Michigan’s 9th District, recently shared her views on economic and governmental efficiency issues through a series of tweets. The congresswoman, who succeeded Paul Mitchell in 2021, has been vocal about the current administration's handling of the economy and other government functions.

On February 12, 2025, McClain tweeted about an economic report criticizing President Biden's policies. She expressed concern over what she described as an "economic disaster," stating that Biden "threw cash out the car window and ran up the tab." She mentioned her anticipation for Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell's testimony at a hearing conducted by the Financial Committee. "This report shows Biden left behind an economic disaster."

Later that day, McClain emphasized the need for governmental efficiency to maintain America's competitiveness. She noted that the House GOP is actively working on these issues, highlighting a hearing held by the DOGE Committee addressing waste, fraud, and abuse within government operations. "Government must be more efficient and effective to make America competitive."

In another tweet on February 12, McClain criticized what she termed "Bidenflation," asserting its negative impact on Americans and refuting claims that it was transitory. She acknowledged Federal Reserve Chair Powell's admission of past mistakes during a Financial Committee meeting and called for improved performance from the Federal Reserve. "Bidenflation has wreaked havoc on millions of Americans."
