Representative Lisa McClain, serving Michigan's 9th district since 2021, shared a series of tweets on February 13, 2025. These tweets addressed issues concerning law enforcement protection and government spending.

In a tweet posted at 13:39 UTC, Representative McClain criticized past congressional votes by Democrats regarding the protection of individuals she referred to as "illegals" who allegedly endangered law enforcement and communities. She questioned whether they would change their stance in the current session. The post stated that the "@HouseGOP will honor the life of Agent Raul Gonzalez and protect our law enforcement officers from illegal aliens." "One hundred fifty-four Democrats voted last Congress to protect illegals who endangered law enforcement and our communities."

At 14:43 UTC, McClain expressed disapproval over specific allocations in foreign aid spending. Her tweet mentioned "$65M for vasectomies in the Congo," "$18M to help LGBT individuals vote in Honduras elections," and "$14M to identify LGBT leaders in Cambodia." She described these expenditures as wasteful and accused Democrats of defending what she termed an abuse of taxpayer dollars. "Who in their right mind agrees with this waste?!"

Later that day at 14:59 UTC, McClain urged those voting against a particular bill to consider reaching out to families of fallen officers. She referenced her full statement on the Agent Raul Gonzales Officer Safety Act ahead of its vote. "For those that vote against this bill today - you can start calling the loved ones of fallen officers."
