Representative Lisa McClain announces passing of officer safety act and honors fallen soldiers

Representative Lisa McClain, who serves in the U.S. Congress representing Michigan's 9th district, recently shared several significant updates via her social media platform. Her posts reflect legislative progress and commemorative actions related to national security and military service.

On March 5, 2025, Representative McClain announced that "The House passed the Agent Raul Gonzalez Officer Safety Act to PROTECT border patrol officers." She noted that "155 Democrats voted against it" and reaffirmed that "House Republicans will continue advancing common-sense legislation to make America secure."

Later the same day, she honored American military service members by stating that "The sacrifice of the brave 13 American service members killed defending Abbey Gate will not be in vain." McClain expressed pride in awarding these individuals posthumously with the Congressional Gold Medal, saying, "It was my honor to enshrine their heroism in our history." She concluded with a message of condolence and patriotism: "May God rest their souls, & may God Bless America."
