Representative Lisa McClain, serving Michigan's 9th district in the U.S. Congress since 2021, recently shared her views on economic and educational issues through a series of tweets. Her statements address concerns about current economic policies and educational environments, reflecting her political stance and priorities.
On March 7, 2025, Representative McClain tweeted about the challenges businesses face due to what she described as "four disastrous years of Bidenomics." She expressed concern over potential tax increases following a vote against the House Budget Resolution by Democrats. "There’s more work to do. Businesses still face uncertainty because of four disastrous years of Bidenomics. And, the Democrats voted for a potential tax increase when they voted AGAINST the House Budget Resolution."
Later that day, McClain endorsed former President Donald Trump as "the right person for this moment," highlighting job losses under President Joe Biden compared to gains in manufacturing jobs during Trump's return to office. She emphasized that an average of 9,000 manufacturing jobs were lost monthly under Biden while noting a gain of 10,000 jobs in Trump's first month back. "President Trump is the right person for this moment...In President Trump’s first month back in office, the country gained 10,000 manufacturing jobs."
In another tweet on March 7th, McClain addressed issues related to antisemitism at universities receiving federal funding. She criticized Columbia University for ethical malpractice and warned institutions that federal support would be contingent upon not allowing antisemitism on their campuses. "Students deserve a place to learn free of hate! This decision is a direct result of Columbia’s ethical malpractice."
