Rep. Lisa McClain of Michigan issued a statement following the U.S. House of Representatives' approval of a clean Continuing Resolution (CR), H.R. 1968, which ensures government operations continue by maintaining current spending levels.

McClain criticized Democratic opposition to the resolution, stating, "It was sad to see that most Democrats—212—stood united against America. They voted against our troops, small businesses, nutritional assistance for our children and mothers, our veterans, and relief projects. They are the true chaos agents." She credited President Trump, Vice President Vance, and House Republicans for securing the resolution's passage: "But President Trump, Vice President Vance, and House Republicans got it done. We have given President Trump and Congress time to fulfill the people’s agenda. House Democrats will need to explain their unified opposition to the American people."

The CR is designed to prevent a government shutdown while funding essential services. It extends funding at current discretionary levels until September 30, 2025. The resolution allocates $485 million for immigration-related expenses and provides $6 billion in mandatory funds through the Toxic Exposure Fund for veterans' health care needs.

Defense investments are increased with what is described as the largest pay raise for junior enlisted troops in over four decades. The CR also supports federal wildland firefighters and protects benefits for Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid recipients.

Additional allocations include increased funding for air traffic control and $425 million dedicated to the Commodity Supplemental Food Program aimed at low-income senior adults. The Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) receives $7.6 billion under this resolution.
