Chairwoman Lisa McClain shares thoughts on National Pet Day and legislative activities

On April 11, McClain marked "National Pet Day" by sharing a photo and message of appreciation for her pet, whom she fondly describes as her "beloved and most trusted advisor, Peanut." The accompanying tweet can be viewed here.

Later that day, McClain announced the progress of the "Take it Down Act" through the committee stage. She highlighted, in her tweet, the significance of this legislation in combating the misuse of deepfakes, which she identifies as harmful to children. She emphasizes anticipation from the House GOP to advance this bill further.

In another tweet the same day, McClain mentioned former President Trump’s involvement in negotiations, bringing both Colombia and "Columbia" to the table.

Lisa McClain, born in Stockbridge, Michigan, in 1966 and currently residing in Bruce, completed her Bachelor of Business Administration at Northwood University in 1997.
