Chairwoman Lisa McClain, who represents Michigan’s 9th district in the U.S. Congress since 2021, recently addressed several significant national issues through her tweets. McClain succeeded Paul Mitchell and has been an active voice concerning local and national matters.

On April 17, 2025, McClain engaged in a discussion about President Trump's tariff negotiations during an appearance on America Newsroom. She tweeted, "It was great to discuss the President’s tariff negotiations on @AmericaNewsroom! Michigan is number three for manufacturing jobs LOST. President Trump is bringing JOBS and INVESTMENTS back to our state and back to America! ".

The same day, McClain expressed concern over the use of taxpayer funds in foreign animal experiments, emphasizing the collaborative legislative efforts with Senator Joni Ernst. She stated, "Americans shouldn’t have to worry that their tax dollars are used to fund dangerous, cruel animal experiments in China or adversarial countries. I am proud to work with @SenJoniErnst on this common-sense legislation." This reflects her commitment to addressing ethical standards in international expenditure.

Later, McClain criticized the Democratic opposition to Medicaid support while affirming her party's dedication to the program. She tweeted, "Democrats can’t say #MedicaidMatters today when they voted against Medicaid recipients last month. House Republicans want to strengthen, secure, and sustain Medicaid for the most vulnerable Americans."
