Chairwoman Lisa McClain, who represents Michigan's 9th District in the U.S. Congress, has shared several thoughts on recent global and domestic events over a series of posts on her social media account.
On April 20, 2025, McClain took a moment to express her personal and spiritual beliefs during the Easter holiday. In one post, she shared, "The Lord has risen! Today, may we all rejoice in the resurrection of our Savior. Wishing you and your family a Happy Easter!"
The following day, April 21, 2025, McClain used her platform to express condolences on the passing of a prominent religious figure. She wrote, "We mourn the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis, a global spiritual leader whose life was devoted to faith, compassion, and service. His legacy will live on through the hearts of millions around the world. May he rest in peace."
In a post dated April 22, 2025, McClain addressed her concerns over rising antisemitism, particularly in educational institutions. She criticized a notable university's handling of these issues, commenting, "Eradicating antisemitism should not be a controversy. Instead of making their campus safe for ALL students, Harvard wants to let the problem continue. Our tax dollars shouldn’t go to universities that support antisemitism."
Lisa McClain, born in Stockbridge, Michigan, in 1966 and an alumna of Northwood University with a Bachelor of Business Administration achieved in 1997, currently resides in Bruce. Her political career in Congress started in 2021, when she succeeded Paul Mitchell.
