Today, Representative Lisa McClain expressed her support for a recent decision by former President Trump to station a new F-15EX fighter mission at Selfridge Air National Guard Base. The announcement underscores the potential of Selfridge and supports Michigan's role in U.S. national defense.

"Selfridge has untapped potential, and I have consistently advocated for new missions and resources to strengthen the base and its workforce. I applaud this announcement from President Trump—it is a major win for our service members, Michigan families, and our national defense,” McClain stated. “This new mission will be a powerful asset for the Air Force. I will continue working with President Trump to ensure Michigan remains at the forefront of America’s military strength.”

The decision includes plans for approximately 20 F-15EX fighters, complementing the future deployment of KC-46A aircraft. The arrival of the F-15EX fighters is scheduled to begin in the fiscal year 2028.
