Chairwoman Lisa McClain, a U.S. Congress member representing Michigan’s 9th District since 2021, recently communicated her initiatives and sentiments through a series of tweets. McClain, who resides in Bruce, Michigan, replaced former Congress member Paul Mitchell and holds a BBA from Northwood University.

On May 1, 2025, she discussed her proposed legislation titled the Common Cents Act, intended to cease the production of pennies. She stated, "Goodbye penny, hello savings! I discussed with @SpectrumNewsDC my bill, the Common Cents Act, that would codify President Trump’s executive order to stop the production of pennies."

Additionally, on the same day, McClain highlighted the significance of prayer, urging her constituents to engage in prayer. She tweeted, "Prayer is powerful. On this National Day of Prayer, I invite everyone in MI-09 to join me in praying for our nation, our community, and for one another."

In a subsequent tweet on May 1, 2025, McClain paid homage to military personnel, accentuating their substantial contributions. She wrote, "Join me this month in honoring the brave men and women of the U.S. military, especially those who call Michigan’s 9th District home. May we always appreciate their service and sacrifice."
