On May 5, 2025, McClain issued a reminder regarding the new identification requirements effective from May 7. "REMINDER: Starting May 7, you will need a REAL ID to board domestic flights AND enter federal buildings. Make sure your license has the star!" She provided a link for further information about these requirements.
Later that day, she commented on an educational policy matter through another tweet, quoting Secretary of Education McMahon: “Receiving such taxpayer funds is a privilege, not a right.” McClain emphasized that "The Trump administration and House Republicans are holding universities accountable."
On May 6, McClain expressed her appreciation for educators with a tweet marking Teacher Appreciation Day. She stated, "Happy Teacher Appreciation Day! I’m grateful for the dedicated educators who are shaping Michigan’s future."
Lisa McClain has been representing Michigan's 9th District since replacing Paul Mitchell in 2021. Born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966, she now resides in Bruce and holds a BBA from Northwood University obtained in 1997.
