Chairwoman Lisa McClain, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Michigan’s 9th district, shared several updates on her official social media platform on May 6, 2025.

In her first post of the day, McClain acknowledged National Nurses Day with gratitude towards healthcare professionals in her district. She expressed appreciation by stating, "Happy National Nurses Day to those in MI-09 that dedicate their lives to keeping our communities healthy. Thank you for all that you do!" This message was posted at 12:38 PM UTC.

Later at 1:33 PM UTC, McClain announced legislative efforts aimed at enhancing transparency and accountability within federal departments. She noted, "Washington bureaucrats should not harass job creators and retirement plan sponsors. I’m proud to introduce the Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA) Act, which will increase accountability and transparency in the U.S. Department of Labor’s EBSA investigations process."

Subsequently, at 1:48 PM UTC, McClain commented on recent events at the University of Washington involving protests and activism. Her post highlighted specific incidents she described as concerning: "Antisemitic chants. Touting the October 7th terrorist attack as a 'heroic victory.' Activists seizing control of a university building." She also mentioned an upcoming press conference regarding these matters.

McClain has been serving Michigan's 9th District since succeeding Paul Mitchell in 2021. Born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and currently residing in Bruce, she is an alumna of Northwood University where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1997.
