House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain expressed her approval following the announcement of a new trade deal between the United States and the United Kingdom. The agreement is set to benefit American workers, farmers, producers, and manufacturers.

"Breaking down trade barriers and expanding market access ensures that Michigan’s agricultural products can globally compete and thrive," stated Chairwoman McClain. She emphasized that this development represents a significant victory for American businesses and strengthens the relationship with the U.S.'s long-standing ally. "I applaud President Trump for continuing to deliver new opportunities for growth and prosperity for Michiganders and all Americans," she added.

The agreement aims to enhance U.S. market access in the UK, potentially generating $5 billion in new export opportunities for American farmers, ranchers, and producers. This includes over $700 million in ethanol exports and $250 million in other agricultural products such as beef.
