Chairwoman Lisa McClain, a U.S. Congress representative for Michigan's 9th district since 2021, recently expressed her concerns regarding antisemitism on college campuses through a series of tweets. Born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and a graduate of Northwood University with a BBA, McClain has been vocal about this issue as part of her congressional duties.

On May 7, 2025, McClain questioned the federal funding of colleges that do not address antisemitism on their campuses. She stated, "If you’re not doing anything about the rise of antisemitism on your college campus as President, why should you receive federal funding?" She indicated her intention to raise this question during an Education and Workforce Committee hearing scheduled for that day.

In another tweet posted later that day, McClain emphasized zero tolerance towards antisemitism. She declared that she and her colleagues would ensure accountability among colleges. She mentioned collaboration between the House GOP and the President to protect students: "Antisemitism in any form will NOT be tolerated."

McClain further addressed the issue by stating that fighting against antisemitism is not a partisan matter but a moral one. In anticipation of the committee hearing, she urged leaders from all communities to unequivocally denounce antisemitism. She shared more insights through an op-ed published in Breitbart News: "The fight against antisemitism should not be partisan—it’s moral."
