House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain has been recognized as "Legislator of the Year" by the Major County Sheriffs of America (MCSA). The honor was given for her legislative efforts and consistent support for law enforcement nationwide.
Chairwoman McClain expressed her gratitude, stating, "It's an honor to be chosen by the sheriffs as their 'Legislator of the Year.' I will keep working to ensure law enforcement across America has the tools and resources needed to keep our communities and citizens safe."
MCSA President Sheriff Bill Brown acknowledged McClain's contributions, saying, "We are grateful for the continued work that Representative McClain has completed on many of our priorities during the last Congress and we look forward to partnering in the future to modernize and advance policing."
Michael Bouchard, Oakland County Sheriff and MCSA Vice President, emphasized the bipartisan nature of MCSA and praised McClain's partnership with law enforcement. He remarked, "We are a bipartisan group of the largest sheriff’s offices in America, and we always recognize and appreciate support from legislators who go above and beyond supporting law enforcement. Representative McClain has been an outstanding partner for law enforcement in some very challenging times and is very deserving of this award."
Sheriff Bouchard presented the award to Chairwoman McClain on behalf of MCSA.
The Major County Sheriffs of America represents some of the largest sheriff's offices in the United States, serving over one-third of the nation's population.
