In another update on May 16, 2025, McClain announced the introduction of new legislation through her tweet: "I introduced the Common Cents Act to CODIFY President Trump’s executive order to stop penny production. Lisa McClain has served in the U.S. Congress since she replaced Paul Mitchell in 2021. Born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and currently residing in Bruce, she graduated from Northwood University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1997.
