Chairwoman Lisa McClain, a U.S. Congress member representing Michigan's 9th district since 2021, recently shared her thoughts on legislative developments through a series of tweets. Born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and currently residing in Bruce, McClain graduated from Northwood University with a BBA in 1997.

On May 19, 2025, McClain highlighted the potential benefits for farmers stemming from provisions related to taxes and commodities included in a budget bill. She stated that "Farmers stand to gain from budget bill’s tax, commodity provisions".

Later that day, McClain expressed her concerns about proposed tax increases by Democrats. She emphasized the significance of what she referred to as "Our One Big, Beautiful Bill," which aims to prevent substantial tax hikes. In her tweet, she questioned the motivations behind the Democratic Party's actions: "Our One Big, Beautiful Bill prevents the largest tax hike in U.S. history. Why are Democrats trying to raise taxes on Americans?"

Additionally, McClain shared her pride in participating alongside President Biden during the signing of the TAKE IT DOWN Act into law. She tweeted about this experience stating "I’m proud to have stood alongside @POTUS when he signed the TAKE IT DOWN Act into Law."
