Chairwoman Lisa McClain discusses Trump's peace efforts and legislative priorities

Chairwoman Lisa McClain, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Michigan's 9th district, shared her views on several issues through a series of tweets on May 19, 2025.

In her first tweet of the day at 20:11 UTC, McClain expressed support for President Trump by stating "President Trump continues to be the PEACE PRESIDENT." She noted that President Trump inherited "multiple conflicts from the Biden administration" and commended his efforts in making significant progress toward achieving peace.

Later at 21:54 UTC, McClain announced her participation in an upcoming event involving President Trump's visit to the House GOP Conference. She mentioned joining a discussion on Fox News with Will Cain about key legislative priorities. According to her tweet, these included "the One Big, Beautiful Bill," securing borders, and preventing what she described as "the largest tax hike in American history."

In another post made at 22:59 UTC, McClain highlighted her interaction with Elliston Berry during the signing of the TAKE IT DOWN Act. She described Berry as "a courageous and inspiring young woman" who was a victim of AI deepfake but did not let it define her.

Lisa McClain has been part of Congress since replacing Paul Mitchell in 2021. Born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and currently residing in Bruce, she graduated from Northwood University with a BBA in 1997.
