Chairwoman Lisa McClain, a U.S. Congress member representing Michigan’s 9th district since 2021, recently expressed her views on various political issues through a series of tweets. McClain, who succeeded Paul Mitchell and is an alumna of Northwood University, has been vocal about her stance on several legislative matters.

On May 20, 2025, McClain criticized the Democratic Party by stating that "Democrats are lying and fearmongering about the One Big, Beautiful Bill—just like they lied about Biden’s condition." This tweet suggests her dissatisfaction with the opposition's narrative surrounding a significant legislative proposal.

In another tweet posted on the same day, McClain highlighted what she perceives as a crucial moment for national security. She tweeted that "This is a historic opportunity to secure our borders and make our communities safer. Let’s close the floodgates and REMOVE those that never should have been here in the first place." This statement underscores her commitment to border security and immigration reform.

Later that day, McClain reiterated the Republican Party's agenda to address fiscal concerns. She asserted that "We have said for months that the @HouseGOP would root out waste, fraud, and abuse...Republicans won’t let you down." This message reflects her dedication to eliminating inefficiencies within government spending and addressing Medicaid-related issues.

Lisa McClain was born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and currently resides in Bruce. She graduated from Northwood University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1997.
