Chairwoman Lisa McClain, a U.S. Congress member representing Michigan’s 9th district since 2021, recently shared her views on significant economic developments and legislative priorities through a series of tweets.

On June 18, 2025, McClain commented on General Motors' investment in the Orion Assembly Plant. She stated that "@GM’s over $2 billion investment in the Orion Assembly Plant proves that @POTUS’ tariff negotiations are working." This statement was made during an interview with WJR Radio.

Later that afternoon, McClain expressed urgency regarding pending legislation. She tweeted, "We’re on the doorstep of the new Golden Age of America. The Senate MUST pass the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, NOW!"

Lisa McClain was born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and currently resides in Bruce. She graduated from Northwood University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
