Chairwoman Lisa McClain, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Michigan's 9th district since 2021, shared several updates on June 18, 2025, regarding legislative developments and their implications for her constituents.

In a tweet posted at 16:34 UTC, McClain announced "Great news for America’s children! This replaces nonsense with common-sense and protects states’ rights." The statement suggests a recent legislative action aimed at benefiting children while emphasizing state sovereignty.

Later that day, at 18:13 UTC, she addressed the impact of new legislation on residents of Michigan. She stated "What does the One Big Beautiful Bill Act mean for Michiganders? More money in your bank account." This message highlights financial benefits anticipated from the bill.

At 19:38 UTC, McClain further elaborated on the legislation known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. She tweeted " The @HouseGOP passed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act to deliver on @POTUS’ promise of NO TAX ON TIPS! Hardworking Americans like the ones at Times Square Family Deli in MI-09 should keep their hard-earned money." This act is intended to fulfill a presidential promise by eliminating taxes on tips, thereby allowing workers to retain more of their earnings.

Lisa McClain was born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and currently resides in Bruce. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Northwood University, which she obtained in 1997.
