Chairwoman Lisa McClain discusses legislative priorities in recent tweets

Chairwoman Lisa McClain, a U.S. Congress member representing Michigan’s 9th district since 2021, shared her views on various legislative matters through a series of tweets on July 10, 2025.

In a tweet posted at 17:10 UTC, McClain expressed her support for college athletes' rights to benefit from their contributions. She stated, "College athletes deserve the chance to benefit from the value they help create." McClain highlighted her involvement with the SCORE Act and her commitment to advancing this legislation.

Later that day, at 18:04 UTC, McClain announced positive developments for Uber drivers. She tweeted, "Great news for Uber drivers = you earn it, you keep it!" She attributed this change to the One Big Beautiful Bill and emphasized the benefits of not taxing tips for these workers.

At 18:53 UTC, McClain addressed political differences regarding law enforcement and immigration policies. She commented on what she perceives as Democratic policies by stating, "Once again, the Democrats are doubling down on their delusion." McClain contrasted Republican support for law enforcement with Democratic defense of illegal aliens.

Lisa McClain was born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and currently resides in Bruce. She holds a BBA from Northwood University.
