Chairwoman Lisa McClain, currently representing Michigan’s 9th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared a series of statements on social media addressing legislative priorities and recent events. McClain, who succeeded Paul Mitchell in 2021, has focused her communications on tax policy, campus accountability, and technological innovation.

On July 15, 2025, McClain highlighted provisions within a new legislative package aimed at broad national impact. She stated that “There’s something in the One Big Beautiful Bill to help EVERY American. @HouseGOP kept our promises to: Cut taxes on tips, overtime, and social security. Deliver tax relief for families. FINISH the border wall. Restore safety to our communities. Unleash American”.

Later that day, she addressed an incident involving faculty conduct at a major university. On July 15, 2025, she wrote: “WATCH: The chancellor of @ucberkeley said a professor who praised the Oct. 7th attack is a ‘fine scholar’. That’s totally disgraceful. Faculty must be held accountable and Jewish students deserve better!”

In another statement posted on July 15, 2025, McClain referenced forthcoming legislation related to digital assets and innovation leadership. She asserted that “The @HouseGOP will vote on historic legislation to make America the crypto capital of the world! We must remain the world’s leader in innovation.”

Lisa McClain was born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and resides in Bruce. She earned her BBA from Northwood University in 1997.
