Chairwoman Lisa McClain, U.S. Congresswoman representing Michigan’s 9th district since 2021, recently used her social media platform to highlight legislative developments and economic trends.

On July 16, 2025, McClain expressed support for recent drug policy legislation, writing, "I am so proud to see the HALT Fentanyl Act make it to the President’s desk. This common-sense law will save lives and make our communities safer!"

A day later, on July 17, 2025, she commented on border security efforts: “The One Big Beautiful Bill will restore order and strengthen border security after 10.5 million illegal immigrants flooded the United States under President Joe Biden and the Democrats.” She referenced a joint op-ed with Senate GOP Chairman Tom Cotton in the same post.

Later that day, McClain addressed economic indicators: "Retail sales rise in June And they are only going up from here with more money in American’s pockets thanks to @POTUS’ leadership and the One Big Beautiful Bill!"

Lisa McClain was born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and currently resides in Bruce. She graduated from Northwood University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. Before entering Congress in 2021—succeeding Paul Mitchell—she built her career outside politics before taking public office.
