U.S. Representative Lisa McClain, who serves Michigan’s 9th district in Congress, posted a series of statements on her official social media account between July 21 and July 22, 2025, addressing recent legislative actions and political developments.

On July 21, McClain criticized Democratic lawmakers for their stance on tax policy, stating, "No amount of fearmongering from the Democrats will get in the way of the facts, especially how Democrats voted for the LARGEST tax increase in American history."

The following day, she highlighted efforts by House Republicans to address issues within the nation’s air traffic control system. In a post dated July 22, McClain wrote, "House Republicans took bold action to overhaul our ATC system and make flying safer, faster, and more reliable. The One Big Beautiful Bill quickly addresses the more than 3,000-controller shortage by investing in robust recruitment, retention, and advanced training efforts."

Later that same day, McClain welcomed Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum to Capitol Hill as part of her "Meet the Cabinet" series. She commented on ongoing energy initiatives: "Honored to welcome Secretary of the Interior @DougBurgum to Capitol Hill today as a part of my @HouseGOP Meet the Cabinet series. The One Big Beautiful Bill UNLEASHES American energy production, and House Republicans are proud to work with Sec. Burgum to lead this charge."

Lisa McClain has represented Michigan’s 9th district since replacing Paul Mitchell in 2021. Born in Stockbridge in 1966 and currently residing in Bruce, McClain graduated from Northwood University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1997.
