Michigan State Representative Matt Maddock posted a series of tweets on July 24, 2025, addressing issues ranging from political donations to state budgeting and education challenges.

In his first tweet at 15:39 UTC, Maddock questioned the source of small-dollar contributions for Democratic politicians. He wrote, "Ever wonder how Dems like @MalloryMcMorrow get all their small donations?"

Later that day at 17:14 UTC, Maddock compared Michigan's budget to that of North Carolina. He stated, "Remember…North Carolina, our sister state, has 1 million more ppl and their budget is 28 Billion (35%) less than ours. We pay for gold faucets and what do we get?" According to recent fiscal data, North Carolina's population is indeed larger than Michigan's by approximately one million residents. Additionally, North Carolina operates with a lower annual state budget than Michigan despite its higher population.

In his final tweet at 20:37 UTC, Maddock commented on educational outcomes in Michigan. He wrote, "One reason Michigan has crappy grades is cuz kids are constantly on phones in class. We tried to give schools authority to stop it but sadly it failed." Recent legislative efforts in Michigan have sought to restrict student cell phone use during school hours; however, proposals granting schools greater authority over this issue have not passed into law.

Matt Maddock serves as a member of the Michigan House of Representatives and frequently addresses state policy issues through his social media accounts.
