Matt Maddock, a Michigan state representative, posted several statements on his Twitter account on July 25, 2025, addressing issues related to state office space usage and education funding.

In a tweet from July 25, 2025, Maddock commented on the use of state-leased office space: "Our state leases 4 million sqft of office space. Prob 3 million is vacant cuz 80% state employees working in their underwear. That 10 million a month in waste." In another post later that day, he remarked: "Finally. Michigan leads in something!"

Addressing education funding, Maddock wrote: "Our ed budget per-pupil from 9600 to 12,000. Biggest increase ever & gives the $ to schools not Porky nonprofits. Dems want nonprofits over kid kash kuz nonprofits kickback king kash to @michigandem campaigns."

The discussion about office space comes as remote work continues to impact government and private sector operations across the country. Many states have been reevaluating their real estate needs due to increased telework among public employees since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Regarding education funding, Michigan has seen significant increases in per-pupil spending in recent years as part of efforts to address educational disparities and improve school resources statewide.
