State Representative Matt Maddock criticized Michigan's management of public resources and employment practices in a series of tweets posted on July 25, 2025. Maddock alleged inefficiencies within state government operations and raised concerns about taxpayer spending.

In his first tweet at 18:18 UTC, Maddock stated, "And lots of state employees work two jobs on taxpayer time".

Later that day, at 20:32 UTC, he posted another message regarding state-owned assets: "Michigan guberment owns all these planes and more and employs ppl to maintain them but we have not had a single pilot to fly them in 8 months. Millions in waste."

Just moments after the previous post, Maddock addressed broader economic issues and referenced political opponents: "This was 50 yrs ago. Today the @michigandems and kommies want a living wage for ppl who don’t want to work."

Matt Maddock is a member of the Michigan House of Representatives. His recent comments come amid ongoing debates over public sector efficiency and state budget allocations in Michigan. The management of state assets such as aircraft has previously drawn scrutiny from lawmakers concerned with cost effectiveness and resource utilization. The discussion around living wages continues to be contentious in Michigan politics, reflecting national trends on minimum wage legislation and workforce participation.
