Matt Maddock, a Michigan state representative, posted several statements on July 26, 2025, expressing criticism of law enforcement and environmental agencies in Michigan as well as making broader claims about crime and political ideology.

In a tweet published at 20:55 UTC, Maddock wrote, "The only ppl doing crime and hiding their faces while committing crimes are the communists and Marxists."

Later that evening at 21:15 UTC, Maddock directed criticism toward the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR), stating, "Thank the @MichiganDNR for this menace. The hunter-hating DNR has intentionally made hunting so complex you need an attorney. Deer hunting should be free now. Anytime. Anywhere."

Three minutes later, at 21:18 UTC, he continued his criticism by posting, "The @MichiganDNR and NRC hate hunters and fishers and are run by a bunch of leftist communist environmentalist terrorists."

Matt Maddock is known for his outspoken views on social media platforms regarding state policy and political issues in Michigan. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is responsible for managing the state's natural resources and wildlife regulations. The Natural Resources Commission (NRC) sets policies related to hunting and fishing in the state.
