Matt Maddock, a Michigan state legislator, made several statements on July 26, 2025, through his Twitter account criticizing the policies of Michigan Democrats and questioning government spending priorities.

In a tweet posted at 21:21 UTC, Maddock stated: "And @MichiganDems want to take more money from ppl living paycheck to paycheck and expand corporate welfare and give more tax money to billionaires. These used to be the ppl they protected. Now they protect billionaires."

Shortly after, at 21:29 UTC, he questioned the employment status of certain groups by posting: "Wait what? Less than 30% of them actually work and tons are on SSI or living off other ppls backs lol"

At 21:34 UTC the same day, Maddock further commented on public funding for organizations with a tweet that read: "Exactly. And why should a single tax dollar fund an organization that is hostile to what America stands for?"

Matt Maddock has been known for his critical stance against state-level Democratic policies in Michigan. He frequently uses social media platforms to express concerns about taxation, welfare programs, and public funding decisions. His comments reflect ongoing debates in Michigan regarding fiscal policy, government assistance programs such as Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and allocations of taxpayer funds.
