Chairwoman Lisa McClain, U.S. Congresswoman representing Michigan’s 9th district since 2021, posted a series of tweets highlighting her support for the U.S. Coast Guard and announcing upcoming media appearances.
On August 4, 2025, McClain expressed appreciation for the Coast Guard’s service: "Happy Birthday to the @USCG! From the Gulf of America to right here in Port Huron, thank you for keeping our homeland safe."
The following day, she continued her praise while criticizing Democratic lawmakers: "The Great Lake State is forever grateful for our incredible Coast Guard! It’s a shame Democrats played political games and voted no rather than supporting our maritime heroes." This message was posted on August 5, 2025.
Later that same day, McClain announced an appearance on CNN with Wolf Blitzer to discuss her "One Big Beautiful Tour": "I joined @CNN @wolfblitzer to talk about my One Big Beautiful Tour kicking off tomorrow! Watch "
McClain, born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and currently residing in Bruce, has been active in Congress since replacing Paul Mitchell in 2021. She graduated from Northwood University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1997.
