Matt Maddock, a Michigan state representative, posted several statements on his social media account on August 19, 2025. His posts addressed issues ranging from media criticism to local infrastructure and national politics.

In a tweet published at 11:47 a.m., Maddock commented on media coverage, stating, "We can’t hear you with that mask on Fake Newz https://t.co/cGtfyiEtXn".

Later that day, at 4:56 p.m., he referenced former President Donald Trump, posting, "You guys, Trump is just getting warmed up."

At 5:48 p.m., Maddock addressed the use of Detroit's "Rain Tax," writing, "Detroit Rain Tax is supposed to be used on infrastructure to prevent flooding but dems abuse it for everything else but. Just signed @JoshuaSchriver bill on this. https://t.co/PZ1RWxhMgL" He indicated support for legislation related to the tax and attributed its signing to Representative Joshua Schriver.

The so-called "Rain Tax" in Detroit refers to stormwater fees intended to fund infrastructure improvements aimed at reducing flooding and maintaining water systems. There have been ongoing debates regarding the allocation of these funds and concerns about whether they are being used exclusively for their intended purpose.

Matt Maddock has previously voiced strong opinions about state and national political matters through his social media presence.
