Michigan State Representative Matt Maddock posted a series of tweets on August 25, 2025, discussing the role of bail in the criminal justice system and expressing gratitude to the President for attention to related matters.

In his first tweet at 16:39 UTC, Maddock stated, "Did you know the appearance (which bail insures) of a criminal in court is the third leg of our criminal justice system. Without bail, the system collapses."

Later that day, at 17:35 UTC, he wrote, "Thank you for your attention to this matter Mr. President." Two minutes afterward, Maddock followed up with another message: "Thank you for you attention to this matter Mr. President. It was great meeting with you. This will do incredible things to insure justice for victims."
