Matt Maddock, a Michigan state representative, shared updates on August 25, 2025, regarding public health and legislative issues in Michigan through his social media account.

In one post, Maddock announced the completion of a major infrastructure project in Flint: "Great news! All the lead water pipes in Flint have finally been replaced as of today! Another nightmare over." (August 25, 2025). The replacement of lead service lines in Flint has been an ongoing effort since the city’s water crisis began in 2014. The crisis drew national attention after it was discovered that residents were exposed to high levels of lead due to corroded pipes following a switch in water source. The federal government and State of Michigan committed substantial resources over several years to replace these pipes and restore safe drinking water to residents.

Later that day, Maddock commented on a recent budget proposal from Michigan House Republicans: "The Michigan House Republican budget makes it super easy to opt your kids out of vaccinations. Will @GovWhitmer veto it or sign it?" (August 25, 2025). Vaccine requirements for schoolchildren have long been debated within the state legislature. The current governor, Gretchen Whitmer, has generally supported policies promoting vaccination coverage among children.

In another post on the same day, Maddock referenced religious texts while discussing bail practices: "Bail is in the Bible. Acts 17:9 Prophets Paul and Silas posted bail after being arrested in Philippi in 65 AD." (August 25, 2025). Bail systems have faced scrutiny nationwide for their impact on pretrial detention and equity within the justice system.

Matt Maddock serves as a member of the Michigan House of Representatives and frequently comments on legislative developments and public policy matters affecting Michigan residents.
