Matt Maddock shares views on Michigan cities, communism, and Republican House budget

Matt Maddock, a Michigan state representative known for his vocal presence on social media, posted a series of tweets on August 26, 2025 addressing various topics including Michigan cities and counties, communism in the United States, and elements of the Republican House budget.

In his first post at 12:46 p.m. UTC, Maddock listed several locations across Michigan: "Already got a Michigan list. Detroit. Traverse City. Grand Rapids. Pontiac. Kalamazoo. Benton Harbor. Muskegon. Oakland County Pretrial Services. Kent County Pretrial. Detroit Defendant Screening Unit and more."

Shortly after, at 12:49 p.m., Maddock commented on political ideology with the statement: "Every communist should just leave. They are only here to bring us all down."

Later that day at 6:58 p.m., he turned attention to fiscal policy by highlighting proposals in the Republican House budget: " Just a few cool things in Republican House Budget: No Tax on Tips No Tax on Overtime No Tax on Social Security"

Maddock's public comments come amid ongoing debates over taxation policies and ideological divides within both state and national politics. The topics addressed in his tweets reflect issues that have been central to recent legislative sessions in Michigan as lawmakers consider changes to tax structures affecting working individuals and retirees.
