Chairwoman Lisa McClain, a U.S. Congress member representing Michigan’s 9th district since 2021, addressed recent events and legislative updates in a series of posts on her social media account.

On August 27, 2025, McClain responded to an incident in Minneapolis by expressing condolences: "My heart goes out to the victims in the senseless tragedy in Minneapolis. Mike and I are praying for the students, faculty, families, and community. May God bless them all."

The following day, she highlighted new legislation regarding energy policy. On August 28, 2025, McClain wrote: "The One Big Beautiful Bill is UNLEASHING AMERICAN ENERGY! That means LOWER energy prices and LOWER prices at the pump!"

Later that same day, she referenced provisions impacting Detroit sports fans and IRS policies: "Detroit sports fan rejoice, thanks to the One Big Beautiful Bill, the IRS will no longer be on your case over simple ticket transactions. Democrats insane tracking of your private transactions was anything but fan friendly. Thanks to the @HouseGOP you can resell your tickets".

Lisa McClain was born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and currently resides in Bruce. She earned a BBA from Northwood University in 1997. McClain succeeded Paul Mitchell as representative for Michigan’s 9th district.
