Matt Maddock, a Michigan state representative, shared several posts on his Twitter account on August 31, 2025, addressing topics ranging from public safety in Chicago to the allocation of taxpayer funds in Michigan and recreational activities.

In one post dated August 31, 2025, Maddock commented on crime in Chicago, stating: "Chicago is a safe-haven for fugitives from justice. Everyone in the criminal world knows this. Now you do."

Later that day, he turned his attention to Michigan's nonprofit sector and welfare programs. In his tweet from August 31, 2025, Maddock wrote: "Michigan taxpayer fund like 435 NGO’s and non-profits. 90% of them are far left organizations that do the same thing…..get ppl on welfare and dole out tax dollars to freeloaders." According to government data and watchdog reports, Michigan allocates substantial funding each year to hundreds of nonprofit organizations. These nonprofits provide a variety of services including social support, education, healthcare access, and food assistance to residents across the state.

In another post from August 31, 2025, Maddock highlighted a recreational activity involving local anglers: "These guys are magnet fishing for Steelhead".

Matt Maddock has been known for making statements critical of progressive policies and organizations within Michigan. His comments often spark debate about the role of nonprofits and government funding in supporting vulnerable populations.
